When compared to other indie-rock albums, “Dil Mere” by Alas ka Pedh is in a league of its own. The unexplained way the lyrics touch me. Every person’s heart is a banjara, and it wanders aimlessly in search of awara, either in pursuit of life itself, worldly enjoyment, or an understanding of one’s own identity. Kirdaro mai uljha, uljha jag mera is my favourite lyric in the song, and it’s reached with such grace. Life, the ultimate game designer and controller, has woven everything together.
